Good afternoon A.E. Cross families. We hope that the first weekend of May is treating you well! Buenas tardes, familias de A.E. Cross. ¡Esperamos que el primer fin de semana de mayo les vaya bien!

Below you will find the latest edition of the Colts’ Community Chronicle. Please take a few minutes to skim the message as there are some important pieces of information that you can find there.

Friday, May 2 was the last day of school for Mr. Richards. He is taking a leave and his position will be filled this week by Mr. Stahl. Mr. Stahl has been at A.E. Cross as a substitute teacher frequently throughout the school year. We wish Mr. Richards the best on his leave and look forward to welcoming him back for the 2025-2026 school year.

For the families of Grade 9 students, there are a couple of important items to bring to your attention:

Grade 9 Farewell – Friday, June 6 at 5:00 pm

    • There will be an information letter being sent home this week. Please ask your child to see it as it contains information about timelines and payments that need to be adhered to prior to your child attending the event.
    • Grade 9 students are eligible to enroll in Math 15 in summer school in preparation for Math in high school.
    • This course is focused on improving student mastery of mathematical skills, concepts and ideas. Students will build numeracy through thinking critically, identifying and solving complex problems, and demonstrating good communication skills. Learners will engage in collaborative tasks and formative assessments designed to develop student agency and independence while acquiring mathematical knowledge.
    • If you would like your child to take Math 15 in the summer of 2025, please contact your child’s math teacher or Ms. Simmons and they will register them for summer school.
    • The deadline for registration is Wednesday, May 7.
