Provincial Achievement Tests (PAT) are part of a balanced, broad-based program of student assessment for Grades 6 and 9 students. The results provide some of the information that guides our educators as they set targets for student achievement and track the results of school improvement initiatives. Visit the CBE website for more information on our students’ provincial testing.
Teachers will remain focused on delivering the programs of study for all courses and will continue to assess student achievement based on the grade level outcomes as determined by the Government of Alberta.
Please check our Calendar page for dates.
We are happy to be offering students some additional Provincial Achievement Test support beginning Monday, April 22. This support will be offered each Monday in Room 19 from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm right up until the PATs occurring in June. Please encourage your child to make use of this resource!
Here are a couple of reminders for Grade 9 students leading into the PAT on Monday:
- Students are recommended to have a full bottle of water and a snack with them during the writing time.
- Students must keep their phones in their lockers. Phones must not be connected to the school wifi to prevent strains in the system as PATs are written online.
- Students are encouraged to take a novel to the writing room to read if they finish before the allotted time.
- Students using the allotted extra time will remain in the room or will move to another one to continue their exam.
- Students’ regular schedule will resume for the afternoon as PATs are written in the morning.
- Students in need of a washroom break will be escorted to the washroom.
