Good Sunday afternoon everybody! Buen domingo por la tarde a todos!
We have had a very busy week of learning at A.E. Cross that culminated in a variety of professional learning completed by our staff on Friday. This past week, we were also fortunate to have our Education Director, Michelle Howell visit A.E. Cross. She had an opportunity to speak with members of the Principals’ Advisory Council about their experiences at A.E. Cross. Also, in concert with Escuela Glenmeadows School, we hosted Humboldt Bronco Ryan Straschnitzki for a Parent Engagement evening on Thursday.
Beginning Monday, April 22, there will be a new person in the main office that will be answering calls and greeting you when you come into the school. We are thrilled to be welcoming Ms. Arshiya Japanwala to A.E. Cross. She comes to us after working in the main office of Forest Lawn High School. Ms. Lidia Mincheva has moved on to a new position at Lester B. Pearson High School.
Moving forward, there are a couple of events I would like to draw your attention to:
- Tuesday, April 23 – School Council Meeting – 7:00 pm in the Learning Commons at A.E. Cross
- All parents and guardians are welcome and encouraged to attend council meetings.
- Thursday, April 25 – Open House – 6:30 pm
- Please spread the word to friends who might have students coming to A.E. Cross in the next couple of years.
- Wednesday, May 1 – Mini Round Dance – 5:00 pm at Ernest Manning High School
- The first ever CBE Round Dance for Grade 9 Indigenous students who are transitioning to high school will be held.
- Please see the letter below for more information.

We appreciate your attention to the complementary course request forms that went home over the past couple of weeks. Course requests for nearly 90% of next year’s Grade 8's and 9's have now been entered into MyCBE. If you have not signed or seen a complementary course request form, please contact the main office.
Thank you to everyone who participated in our school planning engagement. We know we make better decisions to support student learning when we build understanding and work together.
The feedback we received is compiled below and will be thoughtfully considered in making decisions about school planning.
Below is the latest edition of the Colts’ Community Chronicle. We hope that you have a wonderful week!
