Last week, our grade 9 students had their farewell photos done by our partners at Lifetouch. For those students that were not available on Tuesday, February 11, Lifetouch has provided us with a booking link for photographs to take place at their studio. Please note that semester 2 students fees have been applied to your child’s MyCBE account. Please go to MyCBE and pay those fees as soon as possible. Those fees go towards providing educational activities for your children at A.E. Cross.

This week, we are hosting our School Council meeting on Thursday, February 20 at 7:00 pm. This meeting will be held on Microsoft Teams. Additionally, the A.E. Cross Parents’ Association Casino is running on June 10 and 11, 2025 and volunteers are needed for that event. Athletics

Physical Education

The expectations for our PE classes are that students will change their tops and bottoms as well as footwear if it is unsafe (sandal, crocs, high heels, boots, etc.). Please send appropriate active wear to school with your students. Students have access to their own gym locker where they can leave their gym clothes for the week before taking them home over the weekend. This expectation is to teach students how to be healthy and hygienic.

Colts’ Volleyball 

Thank you for cheering on our Colt athletes during our two home games this week. They truly appreciate you support! Parents, please pay the team fees as soon as possible.

Be Brave Hitmen Hockey Game 

On February 26, 30 students will experience the Be Brave Hockey game at the Saddledome. Students will receive their offsite forms on Tuesday. Parents, please sign and return them to Mr. Richards as soon as possible. 

Calgary Surge Basketball Game 

Students who have registered for this May 7 game have received parent letters with trip details. Their is a $36 fee for this trip this year. Parents please make that payment by Feb 24. This is our deadline to confirm our total ticket numbers. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Richards, jarichards@cbe.ab.ca

A.E. Cross E-Sports Club

Do your child love gaming? For the next month, we will have a pilot E-Sports Club on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at lunch. Join us for some Mario Kart & Super Smash Bros!

Career Fair for Grade 9 Students

On February 19, from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm, there is a career fair for grade 9 students at Central Memorial High School. Joins CAREERS and employer partners at Central Memorial High School showcasing career pathways for Alberta youth. Students can explore paid internship opportunities and network with industry experts.
