Dear A.E Cross School parents and guardians, students, and staff,

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Tanis Greenlaw as the next Principal of A.E Cross School.

Tanis is an experienced educational leader with 25 years of service with the Calgary Board of Education. Throughout her career, she has served in a variety of leadership roles in both elementary and middle schools. Her past experience included being the principal of Eugene Coste, a Spanish Bilingual School, and most recently the principal of John Ware School. Both of these experiences have provided her with a strong foundation in language programs, middle school learners, fostering student success, building positive school cultures, and working collaboratively with students, staff, families, and the broader school community.

Principal Greenlaw is looking forward to joining the A.E. Cross School community for the 2026–2027 school year. Her official start date will be August 26, 2026.

Dear A.E. Cross Families,

I am absolutely thrilled to join the A.E. Cross community this fall as your new principal.

Over my 28 years as an educator, I have had the privilege of working across a variety of programs, including the Spanish Bilingual program, and have taught students from Kindergarten through Grade 9. Throughout my career, my true passion has always been working with middle-years students.

As a former parent of A.E. Cross students, I know firsthand what a warm and welcoming place this is. I am excited to bring my enthusiasm for learning and positive school culture to an already thriving community. Over the coming months, I look forward to getting to know the staff, students, and families as we prepare for the 2026–2027 school year.

I am truly eager to meet and work alongside all of you.
