Good afternoon families. Buenas tardes familias.
As we return to regular classes after the recent labour action, I want to extend my sincere thanks for your patience, understanding, and support throughout this challenging period. Your partnership and encouragement helped keep our school community strong. We appreciate all of the messages of support sent to the school over the past three weeks and your presence at rallies throughout the province to raise awareness of the value and integral need for public education within Alberta.
We’re also incredibly proud of our students, who returned on Wednesday eager to learn and reconnect with their teachers and classmates. Their resilience and positive attitude reflect the strength of our entire school community.
Together, we will refocus on learning, growth, and the many opportunities ahead. Thank you for standing with us and for continuing to support our students and staff.
As previously communicated through the Calgary Board of Education, regular activities around A.E. Cross School will take some time to resume. Students will be informed of these activities through school announcements, and I will include updates as needed through our Colts’ Community Chronicle each weekend.
Please note that Fall Break is scheduled between November 8 to November 12 and there is no school for students. Therefore, next week’s edition of the Colts’ Community Chronicle will be sent on Wednesday, November 12 in preparation for the shortened week following that.
For parents of grade 9 students, I want to draw your attention to the upcoming events occurring in CBE high schools. Over the next couple of months, there will be many pieces of information for students heading to high school in 2026 so it is important that you refer to these messages so that you don’t miss out on these events. In today’s Chronicle, there is information about Unique Pathways within the CBE as well as information about the IB information evening at Henry Wise Wood High School.
Below is the latest edition of the Colts’ Community Chronicle. We hope that you have a great week and enjoy Fall Break next weekend.
