Good afternoon families and Welcome to the month of June! Buenas tardes familias y ¡Bienvenidos al mes de Junio!

I can’t believe that it is already the last month of the school year. Things sure seemed to have flown by in 2024-2025. This past week, I had an opportunity to address each Physical Education class reinforcing the expectations that we have of students at A.E. Cross. The focus of this talk included:

  • Cell Phones must be placed in lockers upon arrival at school (exceptions apply)
  • Being on time for class is critical for student learning
  • Respect needs to be shown to employees and customers of the businesses around A.E. Cross at lunchtime
  • Students need to be good digital citizens
  • Show kindness and compassion towards everyone in their words and actions

As we near the end of the school year, there are many important items that I want to highlight this week. The full Colts’ Community  Chronicle is linked below:

  • School Council
    • The AGM will take place on Thursday, June 12 at 7:00 pm in the Learning Commons
    • There are still spots that need to be filled for the A.E. Cross Parents’ Association Casino that will be held on June 10 and June 11. If you can help out, please sign up using the following link:

  • Grade 9 Farewell takes place on Friday, June 6. Ms. Kunze, Mr. Reid and their group of students has been working hard to make sure that this evening is a memorable one for student moving on to high school. The event begins at 5:00 pm and there will be an opportunity for photographs to be taken upon arrival at the school. Students will enjoy a meal catered by Central Memorial High School and then a dance, photo booth and other activities until 8:00 pm.
  • The third and final Open House for CBE-Learn takes place on Tuesday, June 3. If you would like some further information about on-line learning within the CBE, I would encourage you to attend that virtual open house.

We hope that everybody has a great week of learning at A.E. Cross!
