Principal's Message
Good afternoon families! ¡Buenas tardes familias!
Ramadan Mubarak to those who celebrate!
We hope that you are having an enjoyable weekend. Below is the latest edition of the Colts’ Community Chronicle.
Colts' Community Chronicle - March 11 to March 15
Some important things to note from this week’s edition:
Parent-Teacher Conference Booking
- Parents/Guardians will be able to book conferences beginning on Thursday March 14, at 4:00PM. The conference bookings tool will register you to meet with 1 teacher at a time. This means that you will have to make multiple bookings if you desire to meet with more than 1 of your child's teachers, or to talk about different courses. We value the role that your child plays in their learning, and strongly encourage all students to attend conferences with their parent/guardian.
- Format:
- Thursday March 21, 5:00-8:00PM, all conferences will be in-person at A. E. Cross School
- Friday March 22, 9:00AM-2:00PM, all conferences will be online via Microsoft Teams and a link will be emailed directly to you after you book a time slot.
- Each conference meeting will be 10 minutes in length.
- Please refer to this website, MyCBE - School Conferences, for instructions on how to book a conference through your MyCBE account. Should you have any difficulties or questions, please phone the main office and school staff can assist you. If you will require language interpreter services, please let your child's teacher know ahead of time so that they can request an interpreter to attend.
The latest webinar in the CBE Child and Youth Well-Being Family and Caregiver Series occurs on Thursday, March 14 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. The topic of this week’s webinar is Mental Health and Anxiety for Students (Grades 7-12). I would strongly encourage you to attend the webinar on a very important topic. The link to the webinar is found here: Mental Health and Anxiety Webinar
We hope that you have a wonderful week. As always, don’t hesitate to contact the school with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Randy Lewis

Students can follow the bracket in the bulletin board by the Main Office and vote using our school Instagram. Two different songs will compete every three days for the next coming weeks. ¡Qué comience la Locura de Marzo!

Child and Youth Well-Being Webinar Series
Well-being is a precondition for student achievement. Students need to be well to succeed. Currently, students face a wide range of mental health challenges, including stress, anxiety, and depression. This trend is alarming and requires our attention.
The Calgary Board of Education invites all parents and guardians to join us in an online series focusing on child and youth well-being. These sessions will be hosted in partnership with experts from Alberta Health Services and will explore topics such as vaping, brain development, mental health, and sexual health.
In CBE's second year of the Child and Youth Well-Being for Families and Caregivers Series, we have invited Calgary Catholic School District, Rocky View Schools, Palliser School District and other neighbouring school districts to join these webinars. There will be a five- part workshop series that is offered at no cost to all Calgarians.
These sessions will be free and provide information, resources, helplines, and services to support healthy child and youth development.
