Good afternoon everybody! Buenas tardes a todos! We hope that you are having a great weekend so far!
Below you will find the latest edition of the Colts’ Community Chronicle. There is lots of great information in this week’s edition. Some highlights include:
- Information about High School Open Houses for Grade 9 students – these are starting in the month of November – additional high school information will be added throughout the fall as we receive it from the various high schools
- Information about Parent-Teacher Conferences
- A list of clubs and opportunities that are available to A.E. Cross students throughout the 2024-2025 school year. Please note that the list provided is subject to change and that some of the clubs will not be offered until later in the school year. If you or your child have questions about a particular club, I would encourage you to contact the listed teacher sponsor via email.
- With basketball games starting this fall, there is a list of expectations for students if they are planning to support our Colts at A.E. Cross or at other CBE schools. The big takeaway is that students require a parent or guardian to be supervising students when they attend games. If there is no parent or guardian supervisor, the student will be asked to leave.
All of the fees for Athletics and Semester 1 courses have been added to student MyCBE accounts. Please pay the required fees as quickly as possible. Those fees allow your students to participate in engaging and relevant learning in their complementary courses at A.E. Cross. If you have questions about fee payment, please contact the main office.
Please note that the school will be closed on Monday, October 14 for Thanksgiving. Next week’s Colts’ Community Chronicle will be sent out to families at 12:00 pm on October 14. We hope that your long weekend is filled with quality time spent with family and friends. We are grateful for our school community and the support shown to your children and to our staff.
Have a wonderful week! ¡Que tengas una semana maravillosa!
Sincerely,
Randy Lewis

Earn a Bike Program
The earn a bike program starts this Wednesday, October 9. Students are at school form 4- 6pm each Wednesday until December 11. Please make sure a ride is here to pick them up by 5:45 so that our teacher volunteers can head home as soon as possible.
Photo Retake Day
Lifetouch will be providing students with the opportunity to have a retake of their school photo. Lifetouch has encouraged students to bring their proof package with them so that they can show them what to do differently with the retake. If your child was absent on the original photo day, we would like to ensure that they get their picture taken this time. The photographer will only be at the school during the morning of Wed Oct 9. Please email your child’s Homeroom teacher to let them know to include your child in this opportunity.

Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for Thursday, October 24 and Friday, October 25. More information about how to book conferences with your child’s teachers will be coming in next week’s Colts’ Community Chronicle.
School Council will be provided some food for teachers on the evening of October 24th. If you would like to support the potluck meal provided to teachers, please use the following link to sign up:

For online help refer, to MyCBE - Creating an Account (includes instructions and a video).
To complete these forms:
1 | sign in to your MyCBE account
2 | click on the SchoolEngage icon
3 | select the form
4 | complete or review and update the form
5 | click on Submit to send the form electronically to the school
6 | repeat steps 3-5 for each form
Please submit the Demographic Verification and Annual Authorization forms in SchoolEngage for your child by Monday, September 16. These forms are mandatory every year for Alberta Education to confirm student funding. Thank you for completing them.
