Illness & Injury
Students exhibiting signs of illness will be moved to a supervised, designated infirmary room or area in the school. Parents/caregivers will be notified and advised to pick up their child immediately, within one hour. Parents/guardians must designate an emergency contact for student pick up if they are unable to pick up their child. All families must adhere to this.
Students who suffer an injury in class must let their teacher know immediately. If a student must leave class, he/she must report to the Main Office. In the case of serious injury, parents/guardians will be notified, and arrangements made to have the student picked up or sent home. If deemed necessary, EMS will be contacted.

Physical Education (PE) Injury & Illness
- If students are not well, they should tell their PE teacher.
- If a student is injured, a medical note is required. The note should have information about the nature of the injury, and the length of time that the student is unable to participate in classes.
- Parents may wish to contact the Student Services Counsellor, Teacher or Administration directly concerning illness or injury.
Lice
There may be times during the school year when we have cases of head lice.
If your child has head lice, please contact the school and let us know. If your child has been exposed to lice at school we will notify you.
As a precaution, we ask all parents to check their child’s head frequently for a few weeks after any exposure. You can find more information on lice from myhealth.alberta.ca.
